Following the success of *Persona 3: Reload*, fans are eagerly anticipating news about a potential *Persona 4* remaster. Recent developments have sparked excitement, hinting that a remake might be on the way. Dive deeper into the details here.
The speculation about a *Persona 4* remake was ignited by *Persona* YouTuber ScrambledFaz, who shared a screenshot on X. The screenshot revealed that the domain “p4re.jp” was registered on March 20th. Interestingly, the domain “p3re.jp” was registered just months before the announcement of *Persona 3: Reload*, fueling theories that a *Persona 4* remake might be imminent.
The original *Persona 4* was released in 2008 and was exclusive to PlayStation 3 and 4. In 2012, *Persona 4 Golden* was introduced, fully ported to PlayStation Vita and PC. This version included enhanced graphics and new content such as a new town and the popular romanceable character, Marie. However, *Persona 4 Golden* is more of an enhanced port rather than a full remake, similar to *Persona 3 Portable*, which added a new protagonist and the character Theodore to the mix. These changes, while significant, pale in comparison to the comprehensive overhaul seen in *Persona 3: Reload*.
If a *Persona 4* remake follows in the footsteps of *Persona 3: Reload*, fans can look forward to a host of exciting updates. The 2008 graphics of *Persona 4* are undeniably charming, but a remake would bring them into the modern era with updated character portraits and animated cut scenes.
Additionally, a remake could introduce more side quests and enriched character interactions, allowing players to deepen their social links. *Persona 4 Golden* introduced Okina City, offering activities like visiting the cinema or coffee shop. A remake might expand this further, adding more depth and activities to the city.

In 2024, a credible Sega leaker confirmed that a *Persona 4* remake is in development. However, fans should not hold their breath for an immediate release. Based on the timeline of *Persona 3: Reload*, an announcement might be expected as early as June, mirroring the reveal of *Persona 3: Reload* at the Xbox Summer Showcase in June 2023.
Amidst the anticipation for a *Persona 4* remake, Atlus has been dropping hints about *Persona 6* for years. With nearly a decade passing since *Persona 5*, the wait for the next installment in the series continues. Some fans worry that a *Persona 4* remake might further delay *Persona 6*, which has reportedly been in development for some time. While some argue that *Persona 4* doesn't need a remake, the hope is that any such project won't significantly impact the progress of *Persona 6*.
That sums up what we currently know about the possibility of a *Persona 4* remake, potentially titled *Persona 4 Reload*.
