by Nora Dec 02,2025

  • The event runs from July 15th through July 20th
  • Three distinct Tatsugiri forms will appear, each specific to a geographic region
  • A variety of other Water-type Pokémon will also appear more frequently

For anyone seeking a refreshing escape from the summer heat, Pokémon GO offers the perfect solution with its Water Festival. From July 15th to 20th, dive into a wave of water-themed encounters, raid battles, and the exciting debut of Tatsugiri in three regional variants. No matter if you're playing in Europe, the Americas, or the Asia-Pacific region, a unique form of this mimicry Pokémon will be making its first appearance in your area.

Curly, Droopy, and Stretchy Form Tatsugiri will each be featured in local raids based on your geographical location. They'll be joined by the fashionable, scarf-adorned Lapras making a stylish return, complete with a chance to encounter one with a special seasonal background. You'll also notice an increased chance of finding a Shiny Staryu or Shiny Tirtouga, alongside bonus Candy rewards for making accurate throws.

The wild areas will be teeming with an assortment of Water-type Pokémon such as Wimpod, Buizel, and Barboach. Meanwhile, one-star and three-star raids will showcase powerful Water-types like Azumarill and Gyarados. To prepare for the festivities, trainers can purchase the Water Festival Ultra Box from the Pokémon GO Web Store, which is packed with valuable items.
