Half-Life 2, Valve's groundbreaking shooter, launched in 2004 and remains a cornerstone of gaming history. Nearly twenty years later, its enduring legacy inspires fans and modders alike to revisit this classic, leveraging modern technology to enhance the experience.

HL2 RTX, a graphically ambitious project by Orbifold Studios, promises to catapult Half-Life 2 into the modern era. Utilizing ray tracing, enhanced textures, and cutting-edge NVIDIA technologies like DLSS 4 and RTX Volumetrics, this mod aims for a visually stunning transformation.

The visual improvements are striking. Textures boast eight times the detail, while models, such as Gordon Freeman's iconic HEV suit, feature a twenty-fold increase in geometric complexity. Lighting, reflections, and shadows are dramatically enhanced, creating a level of realism previously unattainable, and breathing new life into familiar environments.
