Rome: Total War\'s Feral Interactive port receives major new Imperium update

by Isabella Mar 21,2025

Feral Interactive, renowned for its mobile ports, has significantly upgraded its mobile version of Creative Assembly's Rome: Total War. The new "Imperium Edition" update introduces a wealth of new mechanics and quality-of-life improvements, mirroring many features from the PC remaster.

While some aspects of the PC remaster have drawn criticism, the quality-of-life additions in this update are universally praised. Seasoned players will appreciate the inclusion of Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection, features previously introduced in Feral's Medieval II port.

New and veteran commanders alike will benefit from the addition of Command Slowdown, a feature common in newer Total War titles. This automatically slows gameplay during complex order issuing, allowing for precise strategic decisions in the heat of battle.

Perhaps the most exciting addition is the new keyboard and mouse support for Android and iOS. Now you can enjoy the original Rome: Total War with the familiar control scheme of a desktop PC, enhancing the already impressive polygonal visuals. The Imperium update is available now, and includes numerous other gameplay and quality-of-life improvements.
