This follows recent speculation fueled by a cake-related profile picture change by a co-creator, which proved to be unrelated to any Silksong announcement.

Griffin's statement on X (formerly Twitter) directly addressed fan concerns, providing much-needed reassurance. The initial cake-related speculation, while exciting for fans, ultimately proved unfounded, as clarified by YouTuber fireb0rn. However, Griffin's subsequent confirmation that "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release" is significant, marking the team's first update on the game's status in over a year and a half.

A Long-Awaited Sequel

Initially announced in February 2019 with a projected release in the first half of 2023, Silksong's release was postponed in May 2023 due to the game's increased scope and the developers' desire for further refinement.
