The eagerly anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has just unveiled its roadmap for Q2 2025, which promises a slew of exciting updates and enhancements. From improved modding capabilities to significant A-Life system updates, GSC Gameworld is set to elevate the gaming experience to new heights. Let's dive into what fans can expect from this thrilling journey through the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
GSC Gameworld, the masterminds behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, have shared their latest roadmap, committing to updates every three months. On April 14, the official STALKER X (formerly Twitter) account announced the roadmap for Q2 2025. The developers plan to release detailed quarterly updates, accompanied by patch notes to keep players informed about which updates will go live in the game.
Following the Q1 updates that addressed major issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, GSC Gameworld is poised to continue enhancing the game based on player feedback. Here's a glimpse of what's on the horizon:
GSC Gameworld has outlined a comprehensive list of updates, with a special focus on the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. They plan to conduct a closed beta with mod makers to refine the ModKit before its official release. Additionally, they aim to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop, making it easier for the community to share and enjoy mods.
The A-Life system, which governs the game's NPC AI and simulation, will see continued improvements. After delivering a massive 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance human combat with smarter tactics, better use of cover and flanking, and more strategic use of grenades.
Mutants in the game will also receive updates, now capable of eating corpses and reacting to threats. Other enhancements include the introduction of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an increase in the player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, and the addition of two new unspecified weapons. The team is also focused on further stabilization and optimization of the game.
As a bonus, fans of the original STALKER trilogy can look forward to a next-gen update. More details on these updates will be shared as their release dates approach. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned to our articles for the latest updates on this thrilling game!
