The highly anticipated first story expansion for *Star Wars Outlaws*, titled *A Pirate’s Fortune*, has now been released across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. At the heart of this new content is the beloved character Hondo Ohnaka, a Weequay pirate known from *Star Wars: The Clone Wars* and the *Darth Maul* comics. According to Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, the inclusion of Hondo was a natural choice driven by the team's passion for the character.
"We always knew because there were so many passionate people on the team that we needed to feature Hondo. And, you know, that scoundrel fantasy of Kay mixing with the pirate fantasy of Hondo, it just kind of makes sense, right?" Rechner shared with IGN. This blend of Kay's journey into leadership with Hondo's mentorship—or perhaps something more cunning—adds a rich layer to the narrative. "And we also knew that Kay would be kind of coming into her own, learning what it means to be a leader, and then having someone like Hondo as a mentor - or is he? - we thought it led to really interesting things."
The *A Pirate’s Fortune* DLC introduces a fresh storyline involving the Rokana Raiders crime gang and the Miyuki Trade League, who can provide upgrades for Kay's Trailblazer ship. Additionally, players can now utilize a new blaster capability called Shock, enhancing gameplay dynamics.
Exciting news for Nintendo fans: *Star Wars Outlaws* is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. While Rechner remained tight-lipped about specific new features for this platform, he teased that more details would be forthcoming. "In terms of a specific feature set, that's something that we will get into later. So we'll have more stuff to talk about later," he hinted. Potential features for the Switch 2 version could include the use of controllers as a mouse and a new GameChat capability, promising an enhanced gaming experience.
