"New Superman Trailer: Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Krypto vs. The Engineer"

by Savannah May 15,2025

DC Studios has unveiled an exciting new trailer for the upcoming Superman movie, directed by James Gunn, set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. This three-minute trailer provides fans with a deeper look into the film's extensive cast of superheroes and supervillains.

In the trailer, we get to see Nathan Fillion in action as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, effortlessly battling enemies with a flick of his hand. Isabela Merced impresses as Hawkgirl, and we are treated to our best glimpse yet of The Engineer, portrayed by María Gabriela de Faría. The trailer reveals a pivotal moment where The Engineer destroys the robots that care for Superman in the Fortress of Solitude, including the beloved Kelex, which was hinted at in a previous trailer where a distraught Superman was seen cradling Kelex after a battle.

Adding to the excitement, Krypto the Superdog makes a heroic appearance, executing a flying punch at The Engineer during the intense battle, showcasing his willingness to engage in the fight against evil.

The trailer also features more action from Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, and Ultraman. We see extended scenes of Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason / Metamorpho. The Hammer of Boravia, a new character created by Gunn and revealed in a teaser trailer the previous day, appears as expected, believed to be Ultraman in disguise.

The trailer also delves into the dynamic relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane, with Lois interviewing Superman. Their conversation escalates into an argument over the ethics of Superman's intervention in a foreign war, where he asserts, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" This intervention leads to The Hammer of Boravia attacking Downtown Metropolis.

In another compelling scene, a member of the public assists Superman out of a hole in the ground during the battle with The Hammer of Boravia. This moment of public support starkly contrasts with other scenes where the public is seen screaming at and even throwing objects at Superman, highlighting the complex relationship between the hero and the citizens he protects.
