Top Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked

by Lucas May 17,2025

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the concluding chapter in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the final Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney seven years later.

Fans eagerly anticipated Revenge of the Sith as it promised the dramatic transformation of Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader. A major plot point that captured everyone's attention was what became of the other Jedi. The film introduced Order 66, a sinister scheme by Palpatine where Clone Troopers, who had previously fought alongside the Jedi during the Clone Wars, turned against them and executed them en masse. Given the thousands of Jedi in service at the time, it was plausible that some managed to evade Palpatine’s purge—beyond the few we knew survived into the Original Trilogy.

From the canon Star Wars stories, we've identified and ranked the top 10 Jedi survivors of Order 66 who have left a significant mark on the saga. These survivors ranged from those who lived only briefly after the order to those who continued to influence the galaxy for years to come. Some of their fates remain shrouded in mystery. Yet, each of these Jedi managed to survive the immediate aftermath of Palpatine's command to "Execute Order 66."

Our criteria for this list stipulate that these characters must have been under the Jedi Order's jurisdiction before Order 66, whether as a Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or even a young Jedi Initiate. Therefore, characters like Maul or Palpatine himself, who are Force-users but not part of the Jedi Order, are excluded. Similarly, individuals like Jod Na Nawood, who received some Jedi training but were never officially part of the Order, do not qualify.

There was some debate about including Asajj Ventress on this list. She trained under Jedi Ky Narec for over 20 years on Rattatak, who considered her his Padawan. However, Ventress never visited Coruscant or met with the Jedi Council, and her later allegiance to the Dark Side as Dooku’s apprentice complicates her status. Thus, she is recognized as an honorable mention.
