The Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game, while largely successful, faces criticism regarding its Community Showcase feature. Players find the visual presentation of cards underwhelming. Cards are displayed as small icons beside their sleeves, a design choice deemed visually unappealing by many.
Pokemon TCG Pocket faithfully recreates the physical card game experience, allowing players to open packs, collect cards, and battle. The Community Showcase, intended as a platform for players to exhibit their collections, is a key social feature. However, the current implementation falls short of expectations.
A Reddit thread highlights widespread player dissatisfaction. The small card icons within large sleeve images are a frequent complaint. Some players speculate that this design is a cost-cutting measure by developer DeNA, while others suggest it's a deliberate attempt to encourage closer examination of each display.
Despite the negative feedback, there are currently no announced plans to revamp the Community Showcase's visuals. However, future updates promise enhanced social features, including a highly anticipated virtual card trading system. This suggests a focus on improving the social aspects of the game, even if visual improvements to the Showcase are not immediately prioritized.
