The Dexcom G6 and Dexcom G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems are essential tools designed for individuals managing diabetes, offering real-time glucose monitoring without the need for fingersticks or calibration. These systems are approved for use in making diabetes treatment decisions and are suitable for patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, including children as young as 2 years old. With the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro, you can always stay informed about your glucose levels and their trends, enhancing your ability to manage your condition effectively.

A pivotal feature of the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro is the provision of alerts and alarms based on your glucose levels. These systems send notifications to your smart device, alerting you when your glucose is too low or too high, which is crucial for timely intervention. The Alert Schedule feature allows you to customize a second set of alerts tailored to your daily routine, such as different settings for work hours. You can also choose custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option, although the Urgent Low Alarm remains non-negotiable and cannot be turned off.

The Always Sound setting, enabled by default, ensures that you receive critical Dexcom CGM Alerts even when your phone is set to silent, vibrate, or Do Not Disturb mode. This feature lets you mute calls and texts while still hearing important alerts like the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. A Home screen icon indicates whether your alerts will sound or not. For your safety, certain critical alerts like the Urgent Low Alarm, Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped cannot be silenced.

Additional features enhance the user experience with the Dexcom G6 system. The Share feature allows you to send your glucose data in real-time to up to ten followers using the Dexcom Follow app on their compatible smart devices, provided there is an internet connection. Health Connect access enables you to share your retrospective glucose data with third-party apps, and the Quick Glance feature lets you check your glucose levels directly from your smart device's lock screen. For those using Wear OS watches, integration with these devices means you can view glucose alerts and alarms directly on your watch.

Please note that the Alert Schedule, Share, Follow, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
