Game Introduction

This is a quiz app dedicated to the "Iroha Uta" phrases. The "Iroha Uta" is a traditional Japanese poem that uses all 47 characters of the Hiragana syllabary without repetition, along with the additional character "kyo," making a total of 48 characters. This poem, often used in the game of "Iroha Karuta," was created in Kyoto during the mid-Edo period and later spread to Osaka, Nagoya, and Edo. Our app focuses on the Tokyo-style phrases of this classic.

How to Use

In this app, you'll be presented with the "first half" of an "Iroha Uta" phrase. Your task is to select the correct "second half" from three given options. After you make your choice, the app will display whether your answer was "correct" or "wrong," along with an explanation of the phrase.
