Prologue
You are the most renowned hunter in your village. Driven by the news of a national tournament to determine the best hunter, you journeyed to a forest near the royal capital. Full of enthusiasm, you ventured into the forest the day before the tournament's opening ceremony. However, upon waking from your first camping trip, you find something amiss. The camp, once bustling with hunters from across the nation, is now eerily deserted. The national guards, responsible for overseeing the tournament, are nowhere to be seen. No matter where you look, there's not a soul in sight. Sensing danger, you decide to stay put for a while, but as time passes without any sign of others, you can't help but start walking. Soon, you notice another oddity. That tree with the strange branches... didn't you just pass it a moment ago? You were supposed to head north to return to the starting point, but somehow, you've ended up in the same place. As a skilled hunter, you pride yourself on your sense of direction, yet getting lost in this forest is nothing short of bizarre. Whether you stay or go, the situation remains the same. Suppressing panic, you begin to walk through the forest once more...
What is "Elven Curse"?
"Elven Curse" is a non-field RPG where you play as a hunter trying to escape a cursed forest. With the help of a quarter-elf, you navigate this simple yet engaging game using only three buttons at most, making it a super-simple command selection game.
Character Creation
While manual customization isn't available, you can reroll your stats as many times as you like. The status increase rate upon leveling up is only visible on this screen and cannot be checked once the game starts. During gameplay, stats serve as a return item. If the number of "talismans" you possess falls below two and your main character's life force reaches zero, the character will be lost.
Peddler Quarter Elf "Foria"
In the forest, you meet Foria, a boy (?) who claims to be a quarter-elf despite his youthful appearance. He insists he's older than you and, though uninvolved in the tournament's troubles, secretly aids your escape by harnessing the power of the ancient forest spirits.
Scenario Scene
The prologue flows smoothly like a picture-story show, with Foria's dialogue delivered in a cheerful tone. The game's worldview is expressed through quiet, simple, and somewhat connotative language.
Exploration Mode
The routes within the forest that connect the bases are unlocked by "exploring" all the "unexplored" areas in each section. The numerical outcomes of each "exploration" act are determined by the "fog depth" of the area and some of the main character's status values. When your life force is exhausted, use poison as needed to restore your vitality. In some cases, using rare "talismans" may necessitate a return to Foria.
*Encounter with the Beast Hunter Battle**
Ferocious beasts roam the forest, including wild dogs, wolves, and even frogs and rabbits, all of which will attack you. Killing them yields hides that can be traded with Foria. Note that, unlike general RPGs, there's no leveling up through battle! The game's goal is to escape the cursed forest, with no fixed battles like mid-bosses or final bosses. All battles can be avoided (though this requires luck or considerable playtime). As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow to kill prey. You can't shoot an arrow unless you maintain a suitable distance from your opponent. As long as you keep this distance, you can attack without receiving a counterattack from the beast, but they may close the gap. If you're far from the beast, you can shoot arrows, use wound medicine to restore your life force, or avoid the battle and continue exploring the forest. If the gap is closed, you'll receive a one-sided attack from the beast. You have two options: "withdrawal," where you keep a distance from the opponent on your own, or escape using the "flash" ball given to you by Foria. The latter is certain, while the former's success or failure is determined by the difference in ability.
*Cloak Layering System**
Foria crafts a mysterious cloak from the branch arrows, resin, and leather you bring. This cloak enhances the abilities of the wearer and can be layered up to three times. The increase in ability value is the sum of the layers of clothing. In rare cases, it may also restore the main character's vitality. Note that the top layer may be damaged due to various factors and eventually tear, becoming unusable. This cloak is the only equipment change element in the game. There are no variations to the bow and arrow weapon!
This is the game!
About Autosave
This game features an auto-save system, but the timing is incomplete (for example, the save process is not performed during battle, etc.). If you want to ensure the preservation of your condition, we recommend closing the app in the base menu situation.
