Baldur's Gate 3's hidden depths continue to unveil themselves. Larian Studios' RPG is a treasure trove of secrets, many uncovered by dedicated dataminers.

One such discovery, a previously unearthed dark ending, has resurfaced during testing of the game's eighth major patch. This ending allows the player character to forcibly remove and destroy the illithid parasite, leaving the character unharmed. A subsequent choice presents itself: depart with companions, or leave them behind.

The community anticipates the full implementation of this ending with the release of patch eight.

Recent layoffs at BioWare, the studio behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard, have fueled industry-wide conversations. In contrast, Larian Studios' publishing director, Michael Daus, remains active on social media, addressing these layoffs and emphasizing the importance of valuing employees.
