BotW and Witcher Devs Join Infinity Nikki Team

Infinity Nikki, the highly anticipated fashion-focused open-world game, unveils its development journey in a new behind-the-scenes documentary. The 25-minute film highlights the dedication and passion of the team, revealing industry veterans behind the PC and PlayStation debut.

The documentary traces the game's origins back to December 2019, where the idea of an open-world Nikki adventure was conceived. Early development was shrouded in secrecy, with a separate office used to nurture the project. The team spent over a year laying the groundwork before expanding.

Game designer Sha Dingyu describes the unique challenges of integrating the established Nikki dress-up mechanics into an open-world setting. The process, described as creating a framework from scratch, involved years of research and development. This marked a significant step for the Nikki franchise, expanding beyond its mobile roots with its first PC and console release. The producer's dedication is highlighted by a clay model of the game's central location, the Grand Millewish Tree, illustrating the team's commitment.

The documentary showcases Miraland, Infinity Nikki's vibrant world. The Grand Millewish Tree and its inhabitants, the Faewish Sprites, are featured prominently. The world's lively atmosphere is emphasized by NPCs with independent routines, adding depth and realism to the experience. Game designer Xiao Li points out this dynamic element as a design highlight.

The game's stunning visuals are attributed to a star-studded team. Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga, a veteran game designer from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, serves as Lead Sub Director. Concept artist Andrzej Dybowski, known for his work on The Witcher 3, also contributed to the project.

After over 1800 days of development, Infinity Nikki is set to launch on December 4th, 2024. Players can look forward to exploring Miraland alongside Nikki and her companion, Momo.
