Development Continues Despite Resignations

Following reports of widespread resignations at Annapurna Interactive, several developers confirmed their projects remain on track. Bloomberg News highlighted the uncertainty caused by the exodus, with developers scrambling to maintain contact and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Remedy Entertainment, the developer of Control 2, swiftly clarified that their agreement (including rights for Alan Wake and Control AV) is with Annapurna Pictures, and that Remedy is self-publishing Control 2, thus ensuring continued development and release.

Davey Wreden (creator of The Stanley Parable) and Team Ivy Road both reassured fans that Wanderstop development is progressing without interruption. Wreden expressed confidence in its imminent release.

Matt Newell’s Lushfoil Photography Sim, nearing completion, also appears unaffected, though the team acknowledged the loss of their collaboration with Annapurna Interactive.

Beethoven & Dinosaur, creators of The Artful Escape, confirmed that their upcoming title, Mixtape, remains in development.

Conversely, the status of several other games, including No Code’s Silent Hill: Downfall, Furcula’s Morsels, Great Ape Games’ The Lost Wild, Dinogod’s Bounty Star, and the internally developed Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth, remains unclear pending developer statements.

Annapurna Pictures CEO Megan Ellison affirmed their commitment to supporting developers through this transition. While many developers express optimism, the full impact of the mass resignation on the pipeline remains to be seen.
