Dr Disrespect, the popular streamer, has publicly acknowledged engaging in inappropriate online communications with a minor, confirming the reason behind his 2020 Twitch ban. This admission follows a Twitter revelation by a former Twitch employee alleging that Dr Disrespect was banned for "sexting a minor."

The streamer initially denied wrongdoing, citing a previous settlement with Twitch. However, he subsequently released a statement admitting to inappropriate conversations via Twitch Whispers (a now-defunct private messaging feature) with a minor in 2017. He clarified that while the conversations were inappropriate, there were no intentions of meeting the minor, contradicting claims suggesting he attempted to arrange a meeting at TwitchCon.
