Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Rumored for Nintendo Switch 2, per Saudi Ratings Board

by Samuel May 01,2025

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has been rated for Nintendo Switch 2, hinting at its arrival on the new console even before an official announcement. While we await confirmation that this game, inspired by Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga series, will grace the Switch 2, a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, highlighted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, suggests otherwise.

"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," the tweet declared before its removal, confirming a 12+ rating for the game.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the iconic gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to new heights, featuring "an incredible number" of playable characters, each with their unique abilities, transformations, and techniques.

In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, noting: "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 opened on April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. The demand was as high as anticipated, and on the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store, stating that release date delivery could not be guaranteed due to overwhelming demand.
