⚫︎ As Elden Ring: Nightreign's release draws near, FromSoftware unveiled another playable character, Raider, in a trailer released on April 15 via Twitter (X). Raider, portrayed as an aging Viking with a formidable axe, demonstrates his prowess by single-handedly defeating a dragon. The trailer also showcases his unique ability to summon a large monolith block, creating elevated platforms that aid allies—particularly those with ranged capabilities—and enhance Raider's aerial combat strategies.

⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign will feature bosses from previous Elden Ring and FromSoftware titles. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified in a GameSpot interview that these familiar foes are included primarily to enhance gameplay, rather than to expand the lore.

⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign's roguelike features are not a trend-chasing move, according to Director Junya Ishizaki in a recent PC Gamer interview. Instead, these elements emerged naturally to condense the RPG experience into a more focused gameplay loop, encompassing exploration, character building, and leveling.

Scalpers have already listed these confirmations on platforms like eBay, using screenshots as proof. The Network Test offers players an early hands-on experience with Nightreign, a standalone multiplayer survival action RPG set in the Elden Ring universe. ⚫︎ An Elden Ring player, known as chickensandwich420, has pledged to fight Messmer from the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC every day with a different weapon—without taking a single hit—until the launch of Elden Ring: Nightreign. Originally planning to cycle through bosses from all FromSoftware games, the player narrowed their focus to Messmer due to time constraints, citing their final year of university as a key factor.

⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign will not feature the iconic player messaging system found in previous FromSoftware titles, Director Junya Ishizaki confirmed in an IGN Japan interview. While player ghosts will remain visible, the removal of floor messages stems from Nightreign's session-based design, where each playthrough lasts around 40 minutes. With limited time for exploration, the team felt there wouldn't be enough opportunity for players to engage with messages. Set in the procedurally generated realm of Limveld, Nightreign introduces a roguelike format with a three-day progression system and co-op gameplay for up to three players.

⚫︎ In an interview with Famitsu, Game Director Junya Ishizaki revealed that Elden Ring: Nightreign will include a select number of enemies from the Dark Souls series, reflecting the chaos introduced by the Night King and aligning with the game's thematic focus on disruption. Set in a parallel universe, Nightreign allows FromSoftware to reference its previous titles. The game will feature eight distinct playable characters, each with unique abilities and backstories. A new progression system will unfold the world over three virtual days, with each cycle introducing changes to the map, including new events, enemies, and points of interest. Exploration will also be supported by the Spectral Hawk, a companion designed to help players discover shortcuts and navigate the evolving landscape.

In an IGN interview, Game Director Junya Ishizaki confirmed that the title is designed specifically for solo or trio play, stating that it's one or the other; no duos. Players can team up in groups of three to tackle bosses during the network test, scheduled for early 2025.
