Final Fantasy XVI's PC Debut: September 17th
Square Enix has officially announced the PC launch of the acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI on September 17th. This announcement carries significant weight, as director Takai suggests future titles might see simultaneous releases across multiple platforms.
The PC version will retail at $49.99, with a Complete Edition priced at $69.99, including the "Echoes of the Fallen" and "The Rising Tide" story expansions. A playable demo, featuring the prologue and an "Eikonic Challenge" combat mode, is currently available, with progress carrying over to the full game.
In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun, Takai highlighted the PC version's enhanced capabilities, stating, "we've increased the frame rate cap to 240fps, and you can choose from various upscaling technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS."
With the PC release imminent, now's the perfect time to revisit our console version review, which lauded the game as a "good step in the right direction for the series overall."
