While Square Enix remains tight-lipped about a concrete release date, Hamaguchi offered a positive development update in a January 23, 2025 Famitsu interview. He stated that development is progressing smoothly, with a playable build nearing completion by the end of 2024, confirming the game's direction. Kitase expressed satisfaction with the completed storyline, hinting at a satisfying conclusion for fans.

Timed Exclusivity Expected:

A March 6, 2024 Washington Post report suggests PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the entire FF7 Remake trilogy. Following the precedent set by previous installments (one-year exclusivity for FF7 Remake on PS4, six-month exclusivity for FF7 Remake Intergrade on PS5, and timed exclusivity for FF7 Rebirth), Part 3 is likely to follow suit, launching exclusively on PS5 before a later release on other platforms.

Square Enix's Multi-Platform Shift:

Despite the positive reception of the FF7 Remake series, Square Enix reported declining sales of its HD titles in its March 31, 2024 financial results. In response, the company announced a strategic shift towards a multi-platform approach, encompassing Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
