Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation. With six weapon types available, players can tailor their loadout to suit any preferred playstyle. Three are melee weapons and three are ranged weapons, all customizable.

Weapon Type Variations in Freedom Wars Remastered

Six distinct weapon types are available, obtainable through Operations or Zakka's shop in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are fixed, players have complete control over their Accessory's weapon. Weapon switching is penalty-free, allowing for frequent adjustments. The six types are detailed below:

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, targeting single enemies. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-swinging attacks inflicting high damage. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch the player airborne at the end of combos. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with the Thorne for strategic advantage.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage, but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high rate of fire compensates. Reduces movement speed.

Unlike the player character, the Accessory's gun weapons have unlimited ammo.
