Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Horror-Themed Vote and Community Concerns

Destiny 2 players are gearing up for a spooky choice in Festival of the Lost 2025. Bungie is letting the community vote on new armor sets themed around "Slashers vs. Spectres," drawing inspiration from iconic horror figures like Jason Voorhees and Slenderman. Titans can choose between a Jason-inspired set and one based on the Babadook, while Hunters face a choice between Ghostface and La Llorona. Warlocks can don either a Scarecrow or Slenderman look.

This announcement, while exciting for many, comes amidst growing community frustration. Episode Revenant, the current season, has been plagued by bugs and performance issues, including broken tonics and other gameplay glitches. Although Bungie has addressed many of these, player numbers and engagement remain lower than usual, fueling concerns about the game's overall health.

The reveal of the Festival of the Lost armor sets, ten months before the event, has also raised eyebrows. Some players feel Bungie should have prioritized addressing the current issues and acknowledging community sentiment before focusing on a future event. The inclusion of the previously unavailable Wizard armor from the 2024 Festival of the Lost event during Episode Heresy is a small gesture, but it hasn't quelled the broader anxieties. Ultimately, the upcoming vote for the Halloween event highlights a dichotomy: the anticipation for new content clashes with ongoing concerns about the game's current state.
