New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

by David Apr 13,2025

Exciting new developments have been unveiled for Disneyland Paris, with the introduction of the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to *The Lion King*. Scheduled to begin construction in Fall 2025, this thrilling addition will be a key feature of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This new water ride promises to immerse guests in the iconic moments from the beloved 1994 film, complete with a dramatic 52-foot drop that surpasses Tiana's Bayou Adventure by just two inches.

The Lion King-themed land won't just stop at the ride. It will boast a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and offer a plethora of dining, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more. Disney Parks Blog recently released a captivating concept image showcasing young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment, a scene that visitors can look forward to experiencing firsthand.

While an exact opening date hasn't been announced, the ride is set to follow the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It's just one component of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size. Alongside The Lion King attraction, guests can anticipate other exciting additions like the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction inspired by *Up*, designed as a spinning carousel that provides breathtaking views of the park's scenery.

Set to open on May 15, 2025, World Premiere will serve as a glamorous new park entrance, evoking the atmosphere of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this will be World Premiere Plaza, inspired by the vibrancy of Broadway and the West End, hosting theaters with performances such as *TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure*, *Mickey and the Magician*, and *Frozen: A Musical Invitation*.
