The much-anticipated release of Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update on Steam has been overshadowed by a wave of controversy. After months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store, Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure hit Valve's platform, but instead of celebration, players encountered a series of technical issues, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. In response, the developers issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the community's battle for a better Infinity Nikki experience continues.

PC players eagerly awaited the Steam release but were met with crashes and general instability that prevented the game from launching smoothly. While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the community's frustration extended beyond performance concerns. The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces (up to 220 pulls), caught players off guard. This significant increase in outfit piece requirements, without prior notice, raised fears of even more demanding future collections.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. As technical problems persisted and the community grappled with the game's new monetization strategies, discontent grew. Chinese players, in particular, voiced their concerns on the social media platform RedNote, sparking a global movement. Players worldwide are now urged to boycott Infinity Nikki on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall the game across all platforms.
"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized in a call-to-action post. This strategy aims to send a message to Infold's digital income trackers, as the success of new content in gacha games is often measured in the initial days.
The backlash has led to Infinity Nikki receiving a "Mixed" rating on Steam, with players warning others to steer clear until their demands are met. The situation escalated to the point where Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising better communication about future adjustments.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
In the apology, Infold committed to reverting Mira Crown to end on May 16 and starting the next season on the same day. Players will also receive compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this is a step forward, many players still seek more significant changes, particularly regarding the 11-piece outfit requirement.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the quick response from Infold, some players remain unsatisfied with the retained 11-piece requirement for five-star outfits. The community is rallying to keep the pressure on, as Reddit user EdensAsmr pointed out, "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it."
Despite the ongoing issues, Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now live, and you can find all the details in our Infinity Nikki 1.5 Bubble Season hub. Players can enjoy 100 free pulls and redeem new codes for rewards like Resonance Crystals and Diamonds.
