Edwards shared never-before-seen images and gameplay footage of the cancelled title, tentatively titled "The Invincible Iron Man," on X. His posts included title card images, gameplay screenshots, and original Xbox gameplay footage showcasing the game's opening screen and a desert-based tutorial.

Despite fan enthusiasm, Activision cancelled "The Invincible Iron Man" shortly after development began. Genepool Software subsequently closed, leaving the team unemployed. While Activision offered no public explanation, Edwards suggested several possibilities: delays to the film adaptation, dissatisfaction with the game's progress, or another developer potentially taking over the project.

The game's unique design elements also drew attention. Tony Stark's appearance differed significantly from the MCU portrayal popularized years later. His suit design more closely resembled the "Ultimate Marvel" comic book version from the early 2000s. Edwards confirmed the design choice was the artist's decision. He promised further gameplay reveals, but at the time of writing, these have yet to materialize.
