Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack adds two classic F-Zero GBA racers!
Get ready to experience the thrill of high-speed racing with the addition of F-Zero: GP Legend and the Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, launching October 11, 2024!
This exciting announcement brings two iconic entries in Nintendo's futuristic racing franchise to a new generation of players. F-Zero: GP Legend, initially released in 2003 in Japan and 2004 internationally, joins forces with the long-awaited Western release of F-Zero Climax, originally launched in Japan in 2004. This marks the first time F-Zero Climax will be available outside of Japan.
The F-Zero series, renowned for pushing the boundaries of console technology, offers intense, competitive racing packed with track obstacles and thrilling battles between racers' unique "F-Zero machines." Fans of the series will recognize the iconic Captain Falcon, who also features prominently in the Super Smash Bros. series.
The nearly two-decade absence of new F-Zero titles (excluding last year's F-Zero 99) has been attributed in part to the overwhelming popularity of Nintendo's Mario Kart series, according to F-Zero game designer Takaya Imamura.
Prepare for intense competition! Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers will enjoy Grand Prix racing, story modes, and various time trials in both F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax.
