Embark on a thrilling virtual journey through Japan with the latest expansion for Ticket to Ride, brought to you by Marmalade Game Studio and Asmodee Entertainment. The Japan Expansion for the digital version of this beloved board game is now available, offering a unique twist on the classic gameplay.
For the first time, the iconic Japan map from the physical game has made its way to digital platforms. However, this isn't just about building your own train empire anymore. In this expansion, you contribute to constructing a national Bullet Train network that benefits everyone. The gameplay introduces a cooperative element, but with a twist. You can strategize to let others do the heavy lifting while you focus on earning points. Yet, beware of the game's karma system! Shirk your Bullet Train responsibilities, and you'll lose 20 points when the final scores are tallied. So, while you might be planning some friendly sabotage, you'll need to lend a helping hand too.
The Japan Expansion also introduces two new characters to enrich the experience. Meet Nakanishi Kimiko, a travel blogger who enjoys the festival scene with her dog, adding a modern touch to the game. Then there's Moriyama Isamu, a gyōji or sumo referee, infusing the game with Japan's rich cultural heritage and bringing a unique local flair beyond just maps and trains.
Enhance your collection with the addition of two new trains and two carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train, paired with the Tsuki Sleeper carriage, is perfect for those looking for a more relaxed travel experience. Meanwhile, the Isogaba Maware train, coupled with the Hayai carriage, offers speed and efficiency for those on the go.
With spring in the air, the Japan map is set to provide an especially delightful experience with its seasonal charm. The Japan Expansion is available for download now, ready to add a fresh twist to your Ticket to Ride sessions. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
