A Baldur's Gate 3 mystery has captivated a YouTuber and sparked a $500 bounty. The prize is offered for proof of a specific, unusual cutscene featuring Karlach, where she appears to acknowledge the game's existence.
The highly-detailed RPG, Baldur's Gate 3, achieved massive success upon release. However, this peculiar cutscene, initially believed to be inaccessible without modding, has fueled speculation. While some players claim to have encountered it organically, no verifiable evidence exists.
YouTuber Proxy Gate Tactician (PGT) has issued the challenge. Despite player testimonials, data miners have found no evidence of the cutscene's trigger in the unmodified game. PGT suspects the scene may be cut content, but the bounty offers a chance to prove otherwise.
The challenge, ending before Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 in September, requires participants to record and upload a video showing the cutscene's organic triggering. The first to successfully complete this and notify PGT will receive the $500 reward.
The cutscene's existence remains a compelling enigma. The possibility of it being removed during development is high, leaving the mystery potentially unsolved until future data mining reveals its intended purpose. Until then, the $500 bounty and the curious Karlach cutscene will continue to intrigue Baldur's Gate 3 players.
