The popular mobile beat 'em up ARPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, will be shutting down on October 30th, 2024. This announcement, made via Netmarble's official channels, comes as a surprise given the game's six-year run and numerous successful collaborations with other major fighting game franchises.
Netmarble's explanation suggests a contributing factor is the depletion of characters available for adaptation from the King of Fighters roster. While this is likely not the sole reason, it offers some insight into the decision.

The closure of King of Fighters ALLSTAR unfortunately continues a trend of long-running mobile live-service games ending service this year. This highlights the challenges in maintaining these titles, even within the thriving mobile gaming market.
