Tencent's Polaris Quest Unveils Ambitious Open-World RPG, Light of Motiram, for Mobile
Get ready for a massive announcement! Not only has Project Mugen revealed its official title, but Tencent's Polaris Quest has just announced its upcoming open-world RPG, Light of Motiram, is heading to mobile devices.
Initially revealed on Chinese social media (via Gematsu), Light of Motiram will launch on Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation 5, and apparently, mobile. This is quite bold, considering the game's impressive visuals and extensive feature set.
What exactly is Light of Motiram? It's a genre-bending experience. Think open-world RPG (like Genshin Impact), but with base-building (à la Rust), giant customizable mechanical creatures (reminiscent of Horizon Zero Dawn), and even creature collection and customization elements (perhaps a dash of Palworld?).
The sheer scope is both surprising and intriguing, though it also raises questions about the feasibility of such a visually rich and complex game on mobile. However, a mobile beta is reportedly in development. We'll have to wait and see how Tencent and Polaris Quest manage to bring this ambitious project to smartphones.
For now, the mobile release date remains unconfirmed. In the meantime, why not check out our list of the top five new mobile games this week?
