Marvel is gearing up for a splash with its upcoming Swimsuit Special comic book release, and it seems that NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals is set to dive into the summer vibe with its own line of swimsuit skins.
A recent post on the Marvel website hinted at the potential arrival of long-awaited Marvel Rivals swimsuit cosmetics. The post announced that Marvel will be revisiting the fan-favorite series on July 9 with Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes, and Rivals #1. This edition promises to give Earth’s Mightiest Heroes a well-deserved break from their world-saving duties. More excitingly, the comic teases a sneak peek at designs for Marvel Rivals.
The description for the Marvel Swimsuit Special reads, “Roxxon Comics is at it again when they release their own UNAUTHORIZED SWIMSUIT SPECIAL. Wasp is on the case and seizes the opportunity for Marvel’s heroes to do their OWN swimwear fashion shoot all over the world! But fear not, True Believers, we know what you’re REALLY here for! This super-sized special features splash page after splash page of gorgeous art, but with a story so you can pretend you’re ‘reading it for the articles…’”
While Marvel has been tight-lipped about the exact launch date for these summer designs and which characters will be featured, the context of the special strongly suggests the inclusion of summer-themed cosmetics. As we approach the release date, we can expect more details on how these designs will integrate with Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals, which debuted in December, has quickly captured the hearts of multiplayer enthusiasts on both PC and consoles. With its competitive gameplay and extensive roster of characters, players are constantly looking for ways to climb the ranks. While some focus on honing their skills, others are eagerly anticipating NetEase’s post-launch plans, particularly the rumored Marvel Rivals swimsuit collection, which now seems poised to become a reality.
When considering the timing for the introduction of these swimsuits, we can draw some inferences. Marvel Rivals Season 2 recently introduced Emma Frost and the Hellfire Gala, and it's set to conclude in about three months. This suggests that the new swimwear could launch with Season 3, likely around July or August. This timeline aligns well with NetEase’s planned schedule and allows fans to enjoy the summer-themed outfits before the season ends.
Additionally, Season 3 will mark the beginning of a new approach to post-launch content, with seasons shortened to two months instead of three. This means players can look forward to a new playable hero each month.
