Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to the Esports World Cup 2025
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several publishers have confirmed their games' return for the 2025 edition. Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is the latest to join the lineup, following Garena's Free Fire.
The 2024 World Cup featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These tournaments attracted teams from around the globe to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Selangor Red Giants triumphed in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak) to claim victory in the Women's Invitational.

A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are slated to return in 2025. However, the relatively minor status of some featured competitions is notable. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for example, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the main focus for some publishers. This is a double-edged sword; it avoids overshadowing established leagues but could also diminish the World Cup's overall prestige.
Despite this, fans of the participating games will undoubtedly welcome their return to this high-profile tournament. For those interested in trying MLBB, check out our Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tier list to discover the top-tier characters!
