Nintendo's latest collaboration with LEGO is a Game Boy building set! Find out more about this exciting new release.
Nintendo has unveiled its newest LEGO project: a collectible Game Boy! Set to launch in October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES set.
While exciting news for fans of both brands, the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) sparked a flurry of comments about the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. Some users humorously suggested this LEGO Game Boy was Nintendo's way of announcing their next console.
Although details on the Switch 2 remain scarce, Nintendo President Furukawa stated on May 7, 2024, that an announcement regarding the Switch successor is planned for within the current fiscal year (ending March). Fans will have to wait a bit longer for official confirmation.
Pricing for the LEGO Game Boy hasn't been revealed yet, but Nintendo promises more information soon.
Beyond the NES, Nintendo and LEGO have previously collaborated on sets featuring iconic characters from beloved franchises such as Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.
In May 2024, LEGO released a 2,500-piece "Great Deku Tree 2-in-1" set from The Legend of Zelda series, featuring Zelda and the Master Sword, priced at $299.99 USD.
Two months later, a Super Mario World set featuring Mario and Yoshi in their classic pixel art style was launched. This unique set, priced at $129.99 USD, includes a crank mechanism to animate Yoshi's legs.
