Niantic has announced a vibrant Pokémon GO Lunar New Year event, running from January 29th, 10:00 a.m. to February 2nd, 8:00 p.m. local time. This event promises a wealth of opportunities to expand your Pokédex and boost your in-game progress.

Event Highlights:

• Shiny Encounters: Increase your chances of catching Shiny Ekans, Onix, and Snivy, among others. Keep an eye out for these rare Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild!
• Lucky Pokémon & Friends: Boost your odds of securing Lucky Pokémon through trades and becoming Lucky Friends, further enhancing your chances of those coveted Lucky Pokémon.
• Wild Pokémon Encounters: Prepare for increased encounters with Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini.
• Egg-cellent Hatches: 2km Eggs will have a higher chance of hatching Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi.
• Research Rewards: Complete Lunar New Year-themed Field Research and Timed Research tasks to earn Stardust, XP, Zygarde Cells, and exciting Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research option ($2) offers even more substantial rewards, including Lucky Eggs and an incubator.
• Collection Challenge: A special Collection Challenge will reward you with extra Stardust for trading, making this event particularly beneficial for active traders.
