Midjiwan, the indie developer of The Battle of Polytopia, has unveiled its inaugural world championship. The Polytopia World Championship 2025, set for this fall, invites players globally to compete in this landmark event.
The Battle of Polytopia World Championship revolves around the Battle of the Tribes theme, allowing players to select from 12 unique in-game tribes. Each tribe boasts distinct regional traits and strategic strengths, mirroring the core game’s mechanics.
The journey to the finals begins with open qualifiers, accessible to all aspiring competitors. Successful players advance to tribe-specific playoffs and elimination rounds, vying for a coveted spot among the top six at the live final in Stockholm on December 6th.
This in-person event will also be streamed globally, enabling fans to watch thrilling matches and gain insights into Midjiwan’s creative process, even if they don’t qualify for the finals.
Matches will be hosted on the Polytopia Official Space via the Challengermode esports platform, with qualifiers starting on September 13th.
With a $10,000 prize pool, the Polytopia World Championship marks the largest competitive event in the game’s nine-year history. Visit the official event page for participation details.
This tournament promises excitement for fans of the game’s engaging turn-based 4X strategy and charming low-poly visuals. Its growing popularity is poised to soar with this event.
