Should You Help Prochek or Olbram in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? (Mice & Frogs Quest Guide)

by Jonathan Feb 13,2025

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, early side quests in Tachov and Zhelejov offer a choice between aiding Prochek or Olbram. This guide details both questlines, "Mice" and "Frogs," and explores whether it's possible to help both.

Can You Help Both?

Tachov and Zhelejov are locked in a feud. Fortunately, you can largely complete both Prochek and Olbram's quests. While a mutually beneficial outcome is impossible, experiencing both perspectives enriches the game's narrative.

Prochek vs. Olbram: Which to Choose?

Ultimately, choosing between Prochek and Olbram is a matter of preference. Both quests involve sabotage, and the "funnier" task is subjective.

Olbram's "Frogs" quest involves a nighttime maypole theft, requiring stealth and potentially charm. Prochek's "Mice" quest demands painting his rival's bull blue, requiring dye from the tailor and a lullaby potion (recipe from Radovan).

"Mice" presents a greater early-game challenge, potentially requiring more groschen or Speech skill. Olbram's quest might be easier for beginners.

How to Start "Mice" for Prochek:

Speak to Prochek in Tachov (or the innkeeper if he's unavailable).

Obtaining Dye and Lullaby Potion:

Dye and Potion

Purchase dye from Bartoshek the tailor in Troskowitz. Acquire the lullaby potion recipe from Radovan (either through apprenticeship or charm). Gather poppy and thistle from the apothecary garden in Troskowitz, combine with oil, brew the potion, and apply it to the bull in Zhelejov. Report back to Prochek.

How to Start "Frogs" for Olbram:

Find Olbram near the Zhelejov meadow. Agree to steal the Tachov maypole.

Stealing the Maypole:

Approach the maypole at night. You can either knock out Henrik, the guard, or (with sufficient Speech) charm him into leaving his post for a date with Manka. After Henrik leaves, chop down the maypole and return to Olbram. He'll then request you chase sheep from a Tachov pasture and deliver a digestive potion to Alshik.

You can complete this task, or inform Prochek of Olbram's plan, concluding both quests. This concludes the guide on Prochek, Olbram, and their respective quests. Further Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 tips and strategies can be found elsewhere.
