Rumor: Genshin Impact Leaks Popular Character\

Genshin Impact Version 5.4 Rumored to Feature Wriothesley Rerun After Over a Year

A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's long-awaited rerun in Genshin Impact will finally arrive in Version 5.4, over a year after his initial release. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its ever-expanding roster of over 90 playable characters with the limited rerun slots available on Event Banners. With a projected average of one new 5-star character per patch, the demand for reruns significantly outpaces the supply.

While the Chronicled Banner aimed to address this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. Shenhe's extended wait time (over 600 days) before her rerun demonstrates the limitations of this approach. Until the implementation of triple banners, extended wait times between character reruns seem inevitable.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this challenge. His unique Cryo hypercarry capabilities and Burnmelt team synergy make him a desirable character, but his absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has frustrated many players. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, suggests his return in Version 5.4. However, it's crucial to remember Flying Flame's mixed track record regarding leaks, particularly those concerning Natlan.

This rumor gains some credibility from the recent Spiral Abyss buff, which directly benefits Wriothesley's playstyle. Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If the leak proves accurate, Wriothesley and Mizuki might share an Event Banner, with the other featuring either Furina or Venti, the only Archons yet to receive a rerun within the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4 is tentatively scheduled for February 12, 2025. Players should approach this information with cautious optimism.
