How To Get Shroodle in Pokemon GO

by Thomas Feb 25,2025

The new year in Pokémon GO is bringing trainers a plethora of new Pokémon to catch! Following Fidough's arrival, Shroodle is making its debut – but, like many recent additions, acquiring it isn't straightforward.

Shroodle's Pokémon GO Arrival

The Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, enters the Pokémon GO world on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon universe. Post-event, Shroodle will remain available.

Shiny Shroodle?

Unlike some recent Pokémon releases, Shroodle will not be available in its Shiny form at launch. Expect its Shiny variant to appear in a future event, possibly a Poison-type focused event or one involving Team GO Rocket.

How to Catch Shroodle

Breaking from the trend of wild spawns, Shroodle is exclusively obtainable by hatching 12KM Eggs. This is currently the sole method to acquire Shroodle in Pokémon GO.

12KM Eggs collected from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to hatch into Shroodle. Its hatch rate will likely be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it should remain part of the 12KM Egg pool afterward.

Acquiring 12KM Eggs

Given Shroodle's exclusive 12KM Egg hatching method, a reminder on how to obtain these eggs is helpful. They are rare, and there's only one way to get them:

Defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event is ideal for stocking up on 12KM Eggs, as Team GO Rocket activity increases, and Rocket Radars are easier to find. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to challenge the Leaders and receive a 12KM Egg (provided you have inventory space).

Obtaining Grafaiai

Shroodle's evolution, Grafaiai, also arrives on January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, it won't hatch from eggs or appear in the wild; evolution is the only way to obtain it.

Evolution requires 50 Shroodle Candy, necessitating hatching multiple Shroodle or setting one as your buddy to accumulate enough Candy.

Pokémon GO is available now.
