1047 Games, the creators of the popular arena shooter Splitgate, has announced a sequel! Get ready for Splitgate 2, launching in 2025, and experience a fresh take on the fast-paced, portal-powered gameplay that captivated millions.

A Familiar Foundation, a Brand New Experience

A cinematic trailer released on July 18th showcased Splitgate 2's potential. The developers aim to create a game that endures for a decade or more, building upon the original's success with enhanced gameplay mechanics and a refined portal system. CEO Ian Proulx emphasized their focus on crafting a "deep and satisfying gameplay loop." Hilary Goldstein, Head of Marketing, added that the portal mechanics have been re-evaluated to offer both accessibility and high-skill potential.

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Splitgate 2 will remain free-to-play. While core elements remain, expect a completely refreshed visual and gameplay experience. The game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One in 2025.

Faction Warfare and More

Splitgate 2 introduces a faction system, adding strategic depth without transforming into a hero shooter. Three distinct factions—Aeros (dashing mobility), Meridian (tactical time manipulation), and Sabrask (brute force)—offer unique playstyles.
