Netflix's surprising decision to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, even non-subscribers, continues to pay off. This new content drop, designed to entice new players and reward existing ones, is a clever strategy to boost engagement with both the game and the show.

What's new for existing players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Season Two mini-game "Mingle" will launch. Playable avatars Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos will also debut throughout January.

Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. And for those watching Season Two, additional in-game Cash and Wild Tokens are available. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive "Binni Binge-Watcher" outfit!

Here's a detailed schedule of the January content rollout for Squid Game: Unleashed:

• January 3rd: New Mingle map and Geum-Ja character arrive. The "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins (runs until January 9th).
• January 9th: Thanos joins the roster, along with his "Thanos' Red Light Challenge" recruitment event. Players earn Thanos by eliminating opponents with knives (runs until January 14th).
• January 16th: Yong-Sik, the final new character in this wave, makes his in-game debut.
