Geralt of Rivia's voice, familiar to Witcher game fans, returns in Netflix's latest animated offering, Sirens of the Deep. This animated film, a spin-off set during Season 1 of the Netflix series, features Doug Cockle reprising his iconic role.

IGN critic Jarrod Jones notes that while the pairing of Cockle's Geralt and Joey Batey's Jaskier holds appeal, its charm might be limited to dedicated fans. Nevertheless, it could serve as a satisfying bridge until the release of The Witcher 4.

Where to Stream The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep streams exclusively on Netflix. Netflix subscriptions start at $7.99/month, with no free trial currently available.

What is The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep About?

Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story "A Little Sacrifice," Sirens of the Deep is set between episodes 5 and 6 of Netflix's Season 1. The official synopsis: "Hired to investigate attacks on a coastal village, mutant monster hunter Geralt uncovers an ancient conflict between humans and sea people, threatening inter-kingdom war. With allies, he must resolve the mystery before hostilities escalate."

The Broader Witcher Universe

The Witcher franchise originated with Sapkowski's novels, inspired by Slavic mythology. CD Projekt Red's video games, particularly The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, achieved critical acclaim, spawning numerous spin-offs. The Witcher 4, with a new protagonist, was announced at the 2024 Game Awards.

Netflix's live-action series, starring Henry Cavill (Seasons 1-3) and Liam Hemsworth (Season 4 onwards), debuted in 2019. Season 4 premieres in April.
