Suicide Squad: Epic Conclusion Announced

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development, though online features will remain active.

Launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, the game's live-service model proved controversial. Just ten months later, on December 9th, 2024, Rocksteady announced the end of support, with Season 4 Episode 8 as the final update.

This update includes:

  • Libra Infamy Set: A new set inspired by the DC villain Libra, manipulating enemy damage output.
  • Notorious Weapons: Powerful new weapons, including The Silencer's Complete Silence (featuring a powerful crowd control Alt-Fire), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying enemies), and Chronos' Equilibrium (rewarding aggressive, low-shield gameplay).
  • Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac.
  • Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
  • Extensive Bug Fixes: Addressing numerous issues across gameplay, UI, audio, and more. (See detailed patch notes below.)

Despite the end of development, players can still enjoy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League online. Furthermore, thanks to a previous update (Season 4 Episode 7), the game now offers offline play, allowing access to the main campaign and all seasonal content without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, offline play ensures continued access to the game's content.

For those who haven't experienced the game, it's currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes:

MEDIEVAL ELSEWORLD EXPANSION: Explore new areas and twists on familiar locations within the medieval Elseworld.

LIBRA INFAMY SET: Applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing their damage dealt and received by 50% per stack. High-risk, high-reward gameplay.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS:

  • The Silencer's Complete Silence: Deals bonus damage to enemies affected by Scales of Libra; Alt-Fire deals massive damage and creates a Silencer Zone reducing enemy damage.
  • Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets: Piercing bullets applying Scales of Libra and electrifying enemies.
  • Chronos' Equilibrium: Deals bonus damage based on missing shield percentage.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES:

  • Reduced Deathstroke's Suicide Strike duration.
  • Decreased XP requirements for Squad Levels (retroactive rewards applied).

BUG FIXES: (Numerous fixes addressing various gameplay, UI, audio, and performance issues. See original patch notes for the full list.)

KNOWN ISSUES: Incorrect progress tracking for Riddler challenges across different Episodes. Exiting to the main menu resolves this.
