Despite the cancellation of the planned live-action Driver TV series, Ubisoft confirms continued development of other Driver franchise projects. Let's delve into Ubisoft's recent announcement.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File the cancellation of its live-action Driver TV series. Initially announced in 2021 for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, the project aimed to bring the popular racing game franchise to life, as stated by Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik. The collaboration ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary, in January. Ubisoft stated to Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."
However, Ubisoft assures fans that development continues on other Driver projects. The company confirmed it's "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise" and promises future announcements. Specific details about these new projects remain undisclosed, so keep an eye out for future updates!
