Ubisoft's Ambitious Plans for Nintendo Switch 2: A Flood of Games on the Horizon

Recent leaks suggest a significant Ubisoft presence on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the console's official release, speculation points towards a launch window potentially brimming with Ubisoft titles. This isn't surprising, given Ubisoft's long history of supporting Nintendo platforms, including past collaborations and timed exclusives.

According to prominent leaker Nate the Hate, Ubisoft is planning to bring a substantial library to the Switch 2. His claims include a launch-window release for Assassin's Creed Mirage, alongside other titles like Assassin's Creed Shadows (though not within the launch window). Further fueling speculation, a potential Mario + Rabbids collection encompassing Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope, along with Rainbow Six Siege and The Division series entries, are also rumored. Nate the Hate estimates "more than half a dozen" Ubisoft games will grace the Switch 2, primarily as ports.

Rumored Ubisoft Switch 2 Titles:

  • Assassin's Creed Mirage
  • Assassin's Creed Shadows
  • Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • The Division series

This isn't the first time such rumors have surfaced. A previous leak from last year hinted at multiple Assassin's Creed titles, including Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins, coming to the Switch 2. It's important to note the Switch 2's backward compatibility, meaning a considerable existing Ubisoft catalog will be immediately available. However, these new releases would significantly bolster the Switch 2's appeal for Assassin's Creed fans seeking portable adventures.

Given Ubisoft's strong support for the Wii U and the anticipated success of the Switch 2, it's highly plausible these rumors hold water. The Switch 2 is poised to be a major player, making it a strategic move for publishers like Ubisoft to secure a prominent position on the platform.
