Warriors: Abyss is a Roguelite Take on the Warriors Franchise, Out Today

Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo unleashes another musou title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the genre. This roguelite, featuring familiar faces from the Warriors series, is available now.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad and battle relentless waves of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite, Hades.

Gameplay footage reveals team-based combat against demonic forces from "hell," featuring characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang.

According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Battles support up to seven active heroes, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.

Koei Tecmo plans post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are teased, hinting at the possibility of characters from outside the Warriors franchise.

Warriors: Abyss is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is available as an in-game bonus for a limited time, until March 14, 2025.
