Zynga has introduced an exciting new feature called Letter Lock for its popular game, Words With Friends. This eagerly awaited solo mode has been a long-requested addition by the game's dedicated player base. Alongside Letter Lock, there are other fresh updates to explore, so let's dive in and learn all about them.
Letter Lock is an engaging single-player daily puzzle that offers a unique twist on word games. Unlike Wordle, where you type in words, Letter Lock challenges you to slide columns of letters up and down to form real words in the entry row. As you successfully create words, additional columns unlock, allowing you to construct even longer words until you reach the puzzle's word-length goal. Be cautious, though—each incorrect guess depletes your hearts, and running out of hearts will end your puzzle session prematurely.
While Letter Lock differs from Wordle, it shares a similar vibe with its quick, clever, and daily word challenges. To get a better feel for Letter Lock, check out the trailer below.
Yaron Leyvand, the executive vice president of mobile games at Zynga, emphasized that the introduction of Letter Lock is a direct response to the desires of long-time players. By incorporating new gameplay elements, Zynga aims to keep the game vibrant and continuously evolving.
In addition to Letter Lock, Zynga is launching a Spring into Words event, packed with new daily puzzles and challenges. Players can enjoy solo modes like Guess Word and Crosswords, along with spring-themed rewards, new Tile Styles, and other special events. If you're a word enthusiast, you can download the game from the Google Play Store and start enjoying these new features.
