Looking for a fun and engaging way to introduce your child to the world of reading and writing in German? The ZEBRA WRITING TABLE app is your perfect companion! Designed as a complement to the renowned German textbook ZEBRA by Ernst Klett Verlag, this app stands alone as an educational powerhouse for young learners. Whether used alongside the textbook or independently, it offers an exciting learning path filled with films, games, and a variety of exercises that guide children through their initial steps in mastering written German.

As the first app in the Zebra series for learning to read and write in German, covering years 1 to 4, ZEBRA WRITING TABLE focuses on teaching the writing of phonetic words using fundamental vocabulary. It ensures that children practice basic phonetic-letter associations in a playful manner. If a mistake is made, the app steps in to correct it after three attempts, displaying both the correct word and the child's input. This feature helps kids compare, recognize, and learn from their errors, fostering a basic understanding of orthography.

To keep the learning fresh and engaging, the content of the tutorials varies with each new game. The app includes:

• Videos that explain foundational concepts in a child-friendly manner.
• Automatic correction of incorrect entries, with the correct solution shown after the third attempt.
• A clear and structured learning path with various exercises.
• Opportunities for self-directed learning.
• Motivation through collecting stars and trophies.
• Detailed evaluations for teachers and parents to support further learning.

The app features two distinct areas for practice:

The SWINGING SYLLABLES AND WRITING area introduces children to the writing table and includes exercises such as:

• “initial-sound-rap”
• Movie "speak - listen - swing"
• Task "hear and swing"
• “ZEBRA writing table game”
• Movie "writing with the ZEBRA writing table"
• Task "swing and write" at both simple and difficult levels

The HEARING SOUNDS area is dedicated to developing phonological awareness, a crucial step in learning to read and write, with listening tasks like:

• Which word begins with...?
• Which words sound similar at the beginning?
• Where do you hear the sound in the word?
• With which sound does the word begin?

These listening tasks were previously available as in-app purchases, accessible only through a secure teacher-parent area to prevent accidental purchases by children. However, with the latest update, these in-app purchases have been removed, ensuring a seamless learning experience without additional costs.

In the latest version 3.3.4, updated on October 29, 2024, we’ve introduced exercises for sound gestures and made technical updates to enhance the app's performance. We’re thrilled to continue supporting your child's journey in learning to write and eagerly await your feedback.
