Cursed Objects (or "Cursed Possessions") are randomly generated items in Phasmophobia, appearing on various maps depending on game mode and settings. Activating them provides gameplay advantages, but with significant drawbacks.

Unlike standard equipment, Cursed Objects offer "cheats," such as pinpointing the ghost's room or boosting your team's capabilities. However, this comes at a cost: rapid sanity loss, temporary blindness, or unexpected "cursed" hunts. Use them judiciously; sometimes, avoiding them is the better strategy. Note that Cursed Objects won't appear at all difficulty levels or in Challenge Mode.

Phasmophobia currently features seven Cursed Objects, each with unique abilities and debilitating effects. A common consequence is a substantial sanity drain for the user. Proximity to the user increases the risk of a "cursed hunt" – a hunt unaffected by sanity levels, lasting 20 seconds longer than normal hunts.

Below is a breakdown of each Cursed Object:

Cursed Object	Ability
Tarot Cards	Ten cards offering buffs, debuffs, or increased ghost activity. The "Death" card can trigger a cursed hunt.
Ouija Board	Communicate directly with the ghost. Certain questions ("Hide and Seek") or shattering the board triggers a cursed hunt.
Haunted Mirror	Reveals the ghost's favorite room. Shattering the mirror initiates a cursed hunt.
Music Box	Reveals the ghost's location via a special event. Prolonged use triggers a cursed hunt.
Summoning Circle	Summons and traps the ghost. Always triggers a cursed hunt unless a Tier 3 Crucifix is present.
Voodoo Doll	Forces ghost interactions by pushing pins. Pushing the heart pin triggers a cursed hunt.
Monkey Paw	Grants wishes affecting the ghost or environment. Some wishes can severely hinder the player.
