Hidden Fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 Pays Tribute to Iconic Musicians

This week's Mortal Kombat 1 update brought a surprise addition to the roster: Conan the Barbarian. But the truly unexpected newcomer is a pink-clad ninja named Floyd – a secret, playable character.

This isn't a prank; Floyd is a fully functional fighter, a clear nod to the iconic Pink Floyd. His introduction mirrors the band's Dark Side of the Moon album cover, showcasing a light prism effect. Interestingly, Floyd's moveset is a blend of other ninjas' techniques, borrowing Sub-Zero's freeze ability and Scorpion's spear attacks, among others. He even boasts a quirky 1337 health stat.

Long-time Mortal Kombat fans will see parallels with Reptile, the original game's hidden character. Like Floyd, Reptile was notoriously difficult to defeat and utilized a moveset cobbled together from other ninjas.

Unlocking Floyd currently appears somewhat random, with the community actively searching for the specific triggers. While Floyd offers clues to the required challenges, a definitive method remains unconfirmed.
